Budget - 2012 highlights

Central Govt. Budget highlights:

1. No income tax (IT) till income up to Rs 2 lakh,
2. Income Rs. 2 – 5 lakh: 10% IT,
3. Income Rs. 5 – 10 lakh: 20% IT,
4. Income above Rs. 10 lakh: 30% IT,
5. Cars, AC, fridge, gold, cigarettes to cost more,
6. Cancer & HIV medicines, Solar power lamps, LED bulbs to get cheaper,
7. Excise duty hiked to 12%.
